Terms of Service for Estimation

Estimation is a free multiplayer card game operated by an independent individual developer (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or playing the game, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the game.

1. Your account

• You must provide a valid email address, and you are responsible for keeping your password secure.
• You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
• One person should not create multiple accounts to gain an advantage in games.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use Estimation.

2. In-game coins

Coins are a virtual in-game currency. Joining a table is always free — there is no entry fee. Coins and experience points are awarded at the end of a match based on where you finish, so a higher placing earns more.

We may adjust coin balances where they result from a bug, an exploit, or a breach of these terms. Coins are forfeited if your account is deleted or terminated.

3. Fair play and conduct

When using Estimation, you agree not to:

• Cheat, exploit bugs, or use bots, scripts or modified clients to gain an advantage
• Collude with other players to manipulate the outcome of a game
• Harass, threaten, abuse or send offensive messages to other players in chat
• Impersonate another person, or choose a display name that is offensive or misleading
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to our servers

Chat messages are sent live to other players at your table and are not stored on our servers. You are responsible for what you send. You can mute other players at your table at any time from the chat panel.

4. Leaving games

If you disconnect during a game, a bot may take over your seat so the other players can finish the match. Repeatedly abandoning games may result in your account being restricted. The host of a table may remove a player before the game starts.

5. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, without notice where the breach is serious. You may stop using the game and request deletion of your account at any time — see our Data Deletion page.

6. Service availability

Estimation is provided free of charge, “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee that the game will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of it — including the game as a whole — at any time. We are not liable for lost coins, lost progress or interrupted games arising from downtime, maintenance, faults or discontinuation.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of Estimation. Because the game is provided free of charge, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us, which is zero.

8. Intellectual property

The Estimation game, including its software, artwork and design, belongs to us. You may play the game, but you may not copy, distribute, sell or create derivative works from it without our permission. Estimation is a digital implementation of a traditional card game; we claim no ownership of the underlying rules of play.

9. Third-party services

If you choose to connect Facebook, your use of that service is also governed by Facebook’s own terms. Connecting Facebook is optional and can be undone at any time.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect and how it is handled. It forms part of these terms.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a revised “last updated” date. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the updated terms.
