Privacy Policy for Estimation

Last updated: 8 August 2026

Estimation is a multiplayer card game. This policy explains exactly what data the game collects, why it is collected, and how you can have it deleted. The game is developed and operated by an independent individual developer (“we”, “us”).

In short: we store the minimum needed to run your account and your games — your email, a display name, and your in-game progress. We do not sell your data. The game shows ads, which are served by Unity LevelPlay (ironSource) and may use your device's advertising identifier. You can ask us to delete everything at any time.

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account, we store:

DataWhy we need it
Email addressIdentifies your account and lets you sign in
PasswordStored only as a salted bcrypt hash — never in readable form, and we cannot recover it
Username and display nameIdentifies you to other players and enables friend search
Language preferenceShows the game in English or Arabic

Game data

Facebook information (only if you choose to connect Facebook)

Connecting Facebook is entirely optional. The game works fully without it, and you can only connect Facebook while already signed in to an existing account. If you connect it, we receive and store:

We store only the link to the picture, not a copy of the image itself. We never receive your Facebook password, and we never post to Facebook, read your posts, your friends list, or your messages.

Chat messages

In-game chat messages are delivered live to the other players at your table and are not stored on our servers. Once a message is sent it exists only in the running game; it is not written to our database and it is not retained after the game ends.

Technical data

Our servers keep standard operational logs (such as connection times and error messages) that are used only to keep the game running and to diagnose faults. We do not use third-party analytics or tracking pixels on our own servers.

Advertising

The game shows advertisements, supplied by Unity LevelPlay (ironSource) and its mediated ad networks. Two kinds are shown: a full-screen ad before a game begins, and an optional ad you can choose to watch at the end of a game to double the coins you earned. You are never required to watch the optional one.

To show ads, the advertising SDK runs on your device and may collect your advertising identifier (Google Advertising ID on Android, IDFA on iOS), coarse device and network information, and how you interacted with an ad. That data is handled by Unity and its ad partners under their own privacy policies, not by us — we never receive it. Unity's policy is at unity.com/legal/game-player-and-app-user-privacy-policy.

You can limit this at any time using your device's own setting — Settings > Privacy > Ads on Android, or Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking on iOS. Ads will still appear, but they will not be personalised.

2. How we use your information

We use your data only to:

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not send your account details — your email, display name or game history — to advertisers or data brokers. The advertising SDK described above collects its own device-level data directly on your device; that is separate from the account information we hold, and the two are never combined by us.

3. What other players can see

Other players in the game can see your display name, your avatar, your level, and your results in games you play together. Your email address is never shown to other players.

4. Data sharing

We share data only where strictly necessary to operate the service:

5. Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. Chat messages are never stored. If you request deletion, your account and personal data are removed as described below.

6. Your rights and how to delete your data

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. To do so, email us from the address registered to your account:

Data requests: [email protected]
Please include your username and put “Data deletion request” in the subject line. We will action your request within 30 days.

Disconnecting Facebook

You can disconnect Facebook from the game at any time in the app, without deleting your account. Doing so immediately removes your Facebook ID and profile picture link from our records; your game account, coins and progress are unaffected. You can also remove the app from Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites.

Account deletion

When you request account deletion, we permanently delete your email address, password hash, username, display name, avatar, Facebook ID, friends list and coin balance. Records of completed games may be retained in anonymised form (with no link to your identity) to keep other players’ match histories intact.

7. Security

All traffic between the game and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are stored only as salted bcrypt hashes. Facebook sign-ins are verified directly with Facebook on our server, so a sign-in issued for another application cannot be used to access your account. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

8. Children’s privacy

Estimation is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. In-game currency

Coins are a virtual in-game currency with no real-world monetary value. They cannot be exchanged for money and are used only to enter game tables.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “last updated” date.
